Kika Mela, BSE, LMT, MATCSm

Kika Mela is President and Co-Owner of Mela Therapeutics, Inc.  She is a Master Level MAT Specialist, MAT Rx Specialist, and has been a Licensed Massage Therapist for 20 yrs. 

She graduated from Florida College of Natural Health in 1995 as a massage therapist and received her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from Florida Atlantic University in 2006.  Kika has had in depth training and/or experience in Paul St.John’s Neuromuscular Therapy, CORE Myofascial Release (certified), Active Isolated Stretching, Soft Tissue Release, Craniosacral Therapy, Sports Massage,  RTS and Greg Roskopf's Muscle Activation Techniques™.   She also served an internship in the Athletic Performance Department at Perfect Competition Athletic Development Center under Pete Bommarito MS, CSCS, USAW. 

Working with Pete since 2006, she has provided the massage therapy and MAT for hundreds of professional NFL players, MLB players and other elite athletes.  She has also helped coordinate the massage therapy/MAT for well over 200 athletes training for the NFL Scouting Combine and NFL Draft Prep with Pete Bommarito (2006-2007, 2010-present) and Tony Villani of XPE Sports (2010-2015).  Kika is currently one of the first MAT specialists in the world to be a certified MAT Rx Specialist - the highest level of certification available to an MAT Specialist.

Roberto Mela, BS, LMT, MATCS

Roberto is Vice President and co-owner of Mela Therapeutics, Inc.  He graduated from Florida College of Natural Health in 2001 as a massage therapist and received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Florida Atlantic University in 1997.  Roberto has had in depth training and/or experience in Myofascial Release, Deep tissue massage, Soft Tissue Release, Craniosacral Therapy, Sports Massage, and Greg Roskopf’s Muscle Activation Techniques™. 

Roberto enjoys the challenge of dealing with athletes and solving the problems that individual bodies present.  He has been a therapist for the FAU Owls Football team (2001), worked with Barry University’s Men’s Soccer team in 2007, FIU Golder Panther's Football Team (2010, 2011) and has worked with numerous other elite and professional athletes.  He has also been Mela's Performance Massage Internship Coordinator since 2010 and has helped  coordinate the massage therapy/MAT for well over 200 athletes training for the NFL Scouting Combine and NFL Draft Prep with Pete Bommarito (2010-present) and Tony Villani of XPE Sports (2010-2015).  Roberto is also currently travels with the Univeristy of Miami Swim Team.

In 2008, Roberto and his wife Kika started Mela Therapeutics, Inc. as a massage therapy company dedicated to providing the highest level of massage, bodywork, and MAT. Through Mela Therapeutics, they both currently work with Bommarito Performance Systems and other fitness professionals to consult on corrective exercises, massage therapy, and MAT. 

Leona Bullard, LMT


Leona is a native of Miami, Florida who enjoys the medical field, sports and working with people. She went off to study Health Science/Pre-Physical Therapy at Florida A&M University  in Tallahassee, Fl. While attending FAMU, she volunteered with the athletic department, working as a Student Athletic Trainer. During the years she worked with the Football and Track and Field team, she found her passion for massage therapy.

In the fall of 2012 Leona began her studies at CORE Institute School of Somatic Therapy, under the direction of George Kousaleos. While attending CORE Institute she was able to work on the Florida State's football during their spring and summer season. In June 2013 after graduating massage school and receiving a degree in CORE Myofascial Release. Leona became licensed and was hired alongside a team of Massage Therapists who worked twice a week with FSU's Football team during their 2013 Fall Season.

In November of that year, she moved back to Miami to participate in the Performance Sports Massage with Mela Therapeutics, Inc. for the 2014 Scouting Combine Prep at both Bommarito Performance Systems and XPE Sports. During the internship, she was able to work with college football athletes who were preparing for the NFL combine and their College Pro Day.
